Instructions & Precautions

NOBLE FORMULA Rx (prescription only) and NOBLE FORMULATM

Instructions and Precautions

Noble Formula Rx   and Noble Formula, in any form, are identical except for the addition of a potent corticosteroid, clobetasol propionate .05%, in Noble Formula-Rx.  Both sprays contain zinc pyrithione, sodium lauryl sulfate, isopropyl myristate and SD alcohol 3C.  Persons sensitive or allergic to any of these ingredients should not use.  Both products are dispensed in 4oz. pump bottles or 4oz. jar of cream.  The cream contains zinc pyrithione and sodium lauryl sulfate in a standard moisturizing base.

Apply either spray or cream sparingly to skin or scalp up to twice daily.  Shake the spray before using.  Avoid mucous membranes.  Neither product is a “cure” for any condition.  Symptoms will recur within weeks to months.  Have additional product on hand to promptly suppress, as needed.  Report any suspected adverse effects promptly to your physician.

Scalp Tip:   Apply NF-RX in the evening; shampoo with NF shampoo (regular or Rx) in the AM.

Noble Formula Rx is compounded on individual order, by physician prescription from the basic Noble Formula plus the addition of clobetasol or other prescribed steroid.  Regular use should be limited to two weeks unless otherwise directed by your physician.  Typically, after symptoms subside, patients are instructed to reduce use to weekends only or as flare of symptoms might require, not exceeding 2-4 applications per week.  Some alternate its use with the basic Noble Formula.

Noble Formula Rx is serious medicine for serious disease and requires physician supervision. While usually well tolerated, serious health consequences, both known and unknown can result from its use or use not intended.  Some known risks include mild to severe flare up of the underlying disease on initiation or discontinuance, development of tolerance to the effects of steroids, skin thinning, striae (“stretch marks”), easy bruising, acne-like eruptions, and the possible effects of systemic absorption.  Use over large areas, or under occlusion, or for long periods of time, or in children, will increase risks of systemic absorption with potential, though usually rare and reversible effects including disruption of normal endocrine function, Cushing’s syndrome, elevated blood sugar, gastric ulcers, psychosis, and other risks.

Any adverse effect suspected to result from the use of this product should be promptly reported to your physician and to Ontos SkinCare NW, Inc (OSCNW).

The use of Noble Formula-Rx usually results in dramatic clearing of itching, scaling, inflammation or flaking of the skin within days to three or four weeks (use beyond two weeks only if recommended by physician).  Between 80-90% of people report near “miraculous” results.  If adequate results are not achieved within 3-4 weeks, suspend its use.  After a few weeks one more course may be attempted.  If not then effective, discontinue its use.

Please note that OSCNW does not manufacture or distribute Noble Formula-Rx.  A local pharmacy purchases Noble Formula from OSCNW and is solely responsible for the addition of clobetasol to create the compounded product.  OSCNW serves as the order and mail-processing center for the pharmacy.

Noble Formula spray, cream or shampoo (lacking the steroid) does not require a prescription.  It is effective, but not so dramatically as Noble Formula-Rx.  Approximately 60% of people report good results within 4-6 weeks.  There is no special limitation on its use.

Please understand that neither Noble Formula-Rx nor Noble Formula require, nor have they or this information been evaluated or approved by the FDA.  Neither has undergone the extensive testing required of regulated medications.  Neither product should be used in children or pregnant patients without caution and physician supervision.  Neither formulation should be used if regularly exposed to heavy metal (lead, arsenic, mercury, or nickel) as absorption of the metal may be increased.  Neither these “Instructions and Precautions” or information provided by representatives of OSCNW or its Medical Director are intended to replace the advice or recommendations of your own physician or to provide individual medical diagnosis or treatment.
